One thing was immediately apparent when Silky the hamster arrived at the Oregon Humane Society in Oregon. The hamster was shivering because it was so cold outside and it lacked hair. An animal technician named Selene Mejia decided to knit the tiny, hairless pet sweater after noticing it.
The Oregon Humane Society took this photo. A genetic mutation is the cause of Silky’s lack of hair. No hair will be able to grow on her. She will, however, be warm and comfortable for the winter thanks to her hand-knit sweater. They couldn’t help but develop feelings for the cat or dog.
The sweater is not always worn by Silky. She only wears it on special occasions, according to OHS.
Otherwise, she spends the majority of her time in a warm, nice, and clean place.
Regardless of how little hair Silky has, locals in Oregon claim that he is just like any other hamster. Diana Gabaldon of the OHS claims that despite not being fluffy like a typical hamster, she is equally adorable and playful. She requires a lot of protein in order to stay warm, especially during the winter.
This has caused many changes. She can be stylish and comfortable while she waits for a new owner. The humane society wants to place her in a home where she will be secure and happy despite having an eye infection.
