A Canine That Was Kept on a Chain for a Period of 8 Years Is Overwhelmed With Joy at the Prospect of Having Its Own Bed

Stevie was rescued from a terrace in South Carolina, where he had been chained up for his entire life of eight years, along with another dog named Ponder. Lancaster County SPCA took him in and worked with other shelters, including Diamonds in the Ruff in New York, who agreed to take Stevie in. When they saw Stevie, they knew they had to make him a part of their shelter family.

When Stevie arrived at Diamonds in the Ruff, it was evident that he had several issues, including worms, insects, and a lodged corn cob in his intestines, which required surgery to remove. On top of all his medical problems, his foster family had to be patient with him as he adjusted to life inside with a loving family.

As Stevie began to heal physically and emotionally, he started to come out of his shell and became the most affectionate dog. His foster family loved watching him experience so many firsts, including getting his very own soft bed for the first time. Stevie’s foster family knew he had never had a comfortable bed to sleep on before, so they made sure to give him one. As soon as he felt the softness of the bed with his paws, he was so excited and immediately started jumping for joy.

Now, every time Stevie sees a dog bed, he hops around in excitement. He is so thrilled to have something that is meant to make him cozy and comfortable, and he shows his happiness every single time.
