A Charming Stray Dog Decides To Take Part in the 155-Mile Marathon and Establishes a New Family With One of the Runners

There is absolutely no need to wait for a specific moment or hunt for ideal conditions in order to pick up a dog on the street; it just happens on its own. And living proof of it is the little stray dog from China named Gobi.
In June 2016, the dog was successful in finding herself an owner during a 155-mile marathon in China’s Gobi Desert.

The dog competed in the race with seasoned Scottish runner Dion Leonard.

“She stood next to me, constantly looking at me, on the second day of the competition, as I stood at the beginning of the next stage of the race,” recalls Dion.

“I had the impression that this little dog wouldn’t follow me for very long, but in the end, she managed to cover a distance of 23 miles,” the author said.
The dog was unable to complete the full race due to the severe weather, but the competition’s organizers drove him so that she could always be with Leonard.

They eventually crossed the finish line together on the last day.

The athlete made the decision to bring the dog to Scotland after this remarkable race, regardless of the administrative and financial challenges he would face.

Leonard declared, “The Gobi picked me to be life pals, so I’ll try my best, with assistance from people all across the world, to make this happen.”
