A Cleft Lip Sufferer’s Greatest Friend Is a Shelter Dog With the Same Birth Condition

Bentley Boyers, a little child from Jackson County, Michigan, went with his father to a local animal shelter with the hopes of making a new animal companion.

When Bentley first laid eyes on the adorable 2-month-old dog, he knew they were meant to be.

Ashley, the boy’s mother, recalls:

“This is a dog with a cleft lip,” my husband stated when he contacted me on FaceTime. Take it, I instantly retorted. We require her. The fact that they share a trait with a puppy matters a lot to Bentley. He may believe as he gets older that he and the dog are similar.

The boy’s parents, Ashley and Brandon, made the decision to adopt the dog right away. They brought their new pet home right away without any reservations.

The kid was not fortunate enough to have a cleft palate, sometimes known as a cleft lip, when he was born.

Due to the palate’s halves not closing, a little cosmetic flaw already develops during the babys intrauterine development.

When the youngster was born, he had to deal with some challenges since he couldn’t feed peacefully like other kids could.

Bentley has already had several procedures to repair the palate and lips in such a short period of time. The surgeries were successful, and the baby is now leading a fully typical life, much like his classmates.

The puppy has not yet undergone any surgery. The administrator of the shelter claims that there is no immediate need for this.

The dog, who has grown to be the boy’s dearest companion, comforter, and source of salvation, is unaffected by this flaw in any manner. They are content now that they have each other.
