With gorgeous multicolored feathers on their heads, male Mandarin ducks are regarded as among the most attractive creatures in the entire world.
These birds are from East Asia, where there are a lot of them. They do, however, feel quite at home in Britain.
There, flocks of these amazing birds began to arise when ducks brought from China a century earlier fled and established a feral colony.
However, it’s extremely rare and lucky to see this species’ members in North America. And if it does, everyone’s attention is drawn to the scene.
Trevor is perhaps one of the most well-known male Mandarin ducks in America. Canada’s British Columbia is where you can find it.
The gorgeous bird enjoys swimming in the suburbs of Vancouver, on Burnaby and Deer Lakes.
This endearing duck caused a major stir two years ago.
Visitors came to the lake to take pictures of a colorful duck swimming calmly among the regular mallards.
His distinctive purple, white, orange, and blue feathers made him easy to identify.
After making this acquaintance, Trevor disappeared for a while from the area’s lakes. But everyone was thrilled and delighted when he reappeared there a few months later.
