We have often had to confirm that dogs are very intelligent animals.
Many animals living at animal shelters appear to have already realized that they may win over potential owners through a variety of tactics.
Some animals use unique tricks to do this. Others wag their tails joyfully in an effort to entice and catch the attention of those who are passing by the shelter.
Cheech, a 2-year-old dog who is the hero of this tale, discovered a new home by using… his endearing smile!
Volunteers in Texas found Cheech on the streets and brought him to a nearby shelter.
The animal center’s employees noticed that the dog started to exhibit an odd facial expression whenever someone came close to his cage over time.
“As soon as I noticed his “smile,” I invited my friends over to take a look.”
According to Leah Sipe, the director of the shelter, “At first they believed Cheech was merely smirking or snarling, but he was more sociable than ever.”
Cheech was captured in a number of the woman’s images, which she then uploaded to the shelter’s official Facebook page, where they soon gained popularity.
The pet’s endearing smile never failed to move people. Many of them even wanted to take him home with them!
“You’ve got me,” a number of commenters said.
After carefully evaluating each proposal, volunteers and staff members of the shelter assisted Cheech in finding a new family. The dog belonged to a woman named Carrie. Dusty struggled to accept the death of her friend.
It’s wonderful that such an odd characteristic assisted the endearing Cheech in finding a new home!
