When a Family Goes to a Shelter To Adopt a Dog, They Discover Their Own Pet Dog, Who Went off Three Months Ago

But it’s crucial to hold onto hope. Sometimes our lost pets come back to us in the most unexpected ways . In the case of one family, they went to the shelter to adopt a new dog after their own appeared to be gone forever.And unexpectedly discover their lost pet there.

When Ruth Parada de Martinez’s Corgi/shepherd mix, Dante, vanished, her Virginia family was horrified.

Ruth told people that she adopted the dog as a puppy in 2017 after her daughter was diagnosed with lymphoma. “When Dante disappeared, I felt like a part of me was gone,” Ruth said.

The family relocated to a new town 20 miles away after Dante vanished. After three months passed with no sign of their lost dog, they made the decision to start looking for a new rescue dog.

When they went to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. None of the animals felt like they would be a good replacement for Dante.

As they were leaving, one of the kids glanced at the pictures of the available dogs. She saw one that immediately caught his eye. Dante was there!

The family was reportedly shocked because they didn’t anticipate the dog turning up in a shelter this far away.
Dante had been taken in by the Fairfax County Animal Shelter as a stray. They had given him the name “Soldier.”

The shelter reported that Dante was “extremely pleased to meet his family” .He was jumping and wagging his tail as he welcomed them. According to the Facebook post, he was just as thrilled to see them as they were to see him.
