Searching for seals caught in fishing nets in Walvis Bay are rescuers Antoine and Naude. The two do this early patrol every day since the area’s numerous commercial fishing operations frequently result in seals becoming entangled in those nasti wires. But a cute, adorable baby seal saved the day for the rescuers, making it a memorable one!
When a seal gets caught in a fishing net, it panics and begins to run around desperately. This frequently results in the piercing nets tightening around their delicate bodies, seriously hurting them. Most of these seals starve to death or choke to death if rescuers are not present.
Because they are in such a stressful survival situation, it is common for the rescued seals to bite their rescuers and flee in a hysterical state. But when Antoine and Naude saw one anxious baby seal in this video, they were in for a touching surprise!
When the rescuers approached this specific seal cub, he was unusually composed. A jagged fishing line hurt his neck as he stared at them with his large, melancholy eyes. When a rescuer touched his neck to cut the net, he squirmed in fear. But as soon as he was set free, the seal’s face lit up with joy!
This newborn seal didn’t scoot off at great speed to join his herd like his fellow rescued seals did. Instead, he lingered in the sand, turning his head to the rescuers in a sweet attempt to express gratitude.
