Israeli soccer star Elay Tamam earlier this week turned a joyful event into a heartfelt tribute in memory of a pet he had just recently laid to rest.
Although Tamam plays midfield for the team Hapoel Rishon LeZion, it seems more likely that he views himself as Sky’s best friend above everything else, who sadly passed away this month. Tamam stated as much.
Tamam scored a challenging goal during a Monday game that was broadcast, much to the delight of the audience. But Tamam decided to give the honor to Sky rather than take in the praise.
Tamam removed his jersey to reveal a shirt with a picture of Sky on it, which he proudly displayed in front of everyone.
Tamam apparently received a fine for taking off his jersey, a result he probably expected. He seemed to think the memorial to Sky was worthwhile.
That’s how much he mattered to him.
Tamam at that moment showed more than just athletic ability. He talked about perfect love.
In a tribute to his cherished dog, Tamam stated, “I want to thank you for every minute you spent with me, for every lick, for every bark, for every moment of excitement, joy, and love. “You demonstrated to me what true love—unconditional love—is. More than anything else, I love you.
