Dog Found on Arctic Iceberg Is Rescued by Sailors

The dog, a Samoyed puppy of one year old, went missing from Mys Kamenny in northern Russia. The puppy, Aika, ended up on an iceberg. The small dog would have been unable to withstand the extreme heat. D despite her thick coat, she was frozen on the ice for more than a week. She was saved by the crew of the icebreaker Alexander Sannikov.

The dog’s excitement upon meeting humans was captured on video by one of the sailors.

Aika wags her tail as the rescuers draw near. They not only saved the defenseless dog but also brought it back to its family.

Evgeny Nagibin, a navigation assistant for Russia 1, reportedly said that the dog boarded by itself. “We used a cell phone afterward to identify the dog’s owner.”

A few days later, Aika was reunited with her owner Svetlana Chereshneva. She was unable to explain how the adorable puppy ended up so far from her home, though. The woman allegedly added, “Aika didn’t leave us.” I don’t know how she got there.”

Aika has learned her lesson and is now safe, which is excellent. The solution is here:
