Aardwolves may eat up to 300,000 termites in a single night, and they do adore them. People eat termites, but not all termite mounds. After everyone has eaten, they will remember the position of the mound. Consequently, the termites will go back and repeat the process once they have built again. They typically stay in the den with their parents until the following breeding season because it takes them four months to be independent.
They will then go on their own and typically never return to their previous home.
