The life of a cub in the wild is very challenging, especially in a secluded place like Kenya’s Masai Mara. This lion cub only had a moment of diversion before its life was in danger. Unluckily, the mother turned her back on the youngster, who tumbled over the edge of the cliff. His mother shortly arrived with three other lionesses and a male, and she wasn’t far away.
The lions’ lives would be at risk if the cub were to be saved, so the cub’s fate appeared to be sealed. When the cub realized he was alone and helpless down there, he started to call for help. His mother was not far away and would arrive shortly with three other lionesses and a male.
The youngster’s fate seemed to be set, and if it could be saved, the lions’ lives would be in danger. Motherly love ultimately proved to be the deciding factor. The lioness thought it was worthwhile to risk her life in an effort to save the young ones. He was finally in her jaws.
