GoFundMe claims that Scott realized the weather wasn’t favorable and decided to turn around. The choppy sea jolted the boat, and Scott fell into the channel. He found it challenging to swim back to the boat with the engines still running. With no land in sight, Scott was wearing only shorts and a t-shirt.
Scott admitted to thinking, “This is how I’ll die. I’ll pass away today”. Scott jumped for assistance. He was scared of passing away and abandoning his loved ones. Scott was concerned when he saw that the water was icy and completely dark.
He continued, “Panic set in, and I thought, this is serious.” He received a boost right away that enabled him to continue. He said that a harbor seal was nudging him like a dog.
“They warmed him up and defrosted him.” He is like a legend. The guy lasted so long in the chilly Pacific Ocean and all that weather. He had rhabdomyolysis, dehydration, bruising, wounds, as well as hypothermia.
He is at home with his family, feeling sore and worn out. Now he is grateful and humbled to be alive. He has raised almost $13,000 on GoFundMe to repair his yacht. Scott’s survival was incredible. Never undervalue the strength of the human or animal spirit.
