In addition to gaining weight, Phantom is getting to know his temporary residence better. Obviously, the mom and the baby are also giving each other more tender hugs. Lizzie and Phantom were taken to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital after being hit by a car. The accident did not harm Phantom, who was only six months old.
As a result of being struck in the face and having a lung collapse, Lizzie, on the other hand, won’t look so good. She had to undergo surgery in order to survive. But during the procedure that kept her baby life, this mother marsupial wasn’t continuing to work alone. Phantom accompanied her to the hospital and stayed by her side while she was getting treated.
Phantom was too young to be left on his own, and the vets decided not to separate them because doing so would likely cause both koalas undue stress. They are relieved to learn that Lizzie will likely recover fully. They will then be released back into nature once that is finished.
