The Chihuahua and the Pig Kept Each Other Company in the Empty House

Danielle Betterman was ready to help when she received a call about an abandoned pig in need of a home. But the caller insisted that this pig was special.

The two closest friends were a small Chihuahua and this pig.

The two, appropriately called Timon and Pumbaa, were found together in a vacant house. Pigs are natural prey animals, and dogs are natural predators, so the Arizona Humane Society was surprised to find them together.

But it was obvious that these two were in a committed relationship. Betterman, the owner of Better Piggies Rescue, was informed that she could either take the two piggies in if she was willing to do so, or that Timon could be taken to a shelter to be adopted.

Betterman realized she couldn’t keep them apart.

They are complete opposites, yet they adore each other so much, Betterman said. “We think it’s because they were left alone for such a long time that they relied on one another for company.” They interact in an extremely sweet way.

Pumbaa is an elderly man who loves nothing more than spending the day lazing around the yard, in contrast to Timon, a rambunctious dog who is continuously leaping up and down. Even though Timon moves more slowly than Pumbaa, they never lose patience with one another.

In reality, Timon thinks that his perch atop Pumbaa’s back is his favorite place in the entire world.

When Timon first enters the outside world, he seeks out Pumbaa and jumps on his back, according to Betterman. “It makes no difference whether Pumbaa is sitting or standing. They then simply hang out.
