Helen and her son Blake spent a joyful day at the Pleasureland Amusements arcade in Whitby, Yorkshire, full of laughter and fun. But when they returned home, they realized that Blake’s beloved purple sloth toy, Slothy, had been left behind.
Distraught, Helen reached out to the arcade in hopes of finding the lost toy. Unfortunately, the staff informed her that nothing had been reported to lost and found. Blake was heartbroken, believing that Slothy was gone for good.
Helen searched everywhere for a replacement but couldn’t find one. Then, out of the blue, she received a message from Pleasureland Amusements—Slothy had been found!

The package contained more than just Slothy. Along with Blake’s cherished toy, there were two new toys and three containers of treats. A heartfelt note accompanied the gifts: “Hello, we thought Pablo (as we called him before we knew he was Slothy) might get scared on his journey, so we sent him with a friend and some snacks to share with you when he got back home safe and sound. We also included a fidget pop to keep him entertained. We hope Pablo, also known as Slothy, stays safe from now on.”
Overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness of the Pleasureland staff, Helen shared the story and photos on Facebook. She encouraged others to visit the Whitby arcade and expressed her gratitude for the reminder that there are still kind, honest, and generous people in the world.
The post quickly garnered hundreds of comments, many from people who were deeply moved by the story. Some even admitted it brought tears to their eyes. The Pleasureland employees were showered with praise, with one commenter awarding them “five gold stars.”
