The talented actor Michael J. Fox is celebrated not only for his film career but also for his role as a devoted father.
Alongside his wife of over 30 years, Tracy Pollan, Fox has four children. In a lighthearted interview with Reader’s Digest, Fox joked that sometimes it feels like he’s raising five kids instead of four!
Fox strongly believes in always being there for his children. He shared some parenting advice, noting that if you ask your kids to wait a few minutes before you listen to them, those few minutes can quickly turn into fifteen or twenty, by which time the moment may have passed. Fox has never regretted his efforts to be present for his children.
Even after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991, Fox has remained a steadfast supporter of his children. In a 2009 interview, he talked about how they’ve developed empathy, resilience, and the ability to focus on what truly matters in life.
It’s no surprise that Fox’s Instagram is filled with photos of his four grown children, reflecting the strong bond they share. He frequently expresses his love and pride for them, often posting updates on their lives.
In a Mother’s Day post dedicated to Pollan, Fox described their children as lovely, perceptive, smart, compassionate, independent, caring, and adventurous individuals.
Their eldest, Sam Michael Fox, was born in 1989 and is the only son Fox shares with Pollan. Sam, who bears a strong resemblance to his father, has also ventured into the entertainment industry, contributing to various projects, including the documentary *Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie* directed by his father.
The couple’s twin daughters, Aquinnah Kathleen Fox and Schuyler Frances Fox, are also thriving. Aquinnah studied art history, psychology, and visual and media studies at Duke University and now works as an assistant at Annapurna Pictures in Los Angeles. Schuyler, on the other hand, graduated from Harvard University with a Master of Education after earning her psychology degree from Pomona College. She is currently working as an assistant producer in Massachusetts.
Their youngest child, Esmé Annabelle Fox, was born in 2001. Recently, she left home to attend Duke University. Though she prefers to keep a low profile, she occasionally appears on her father’s Instagram.
Despite the challenges of living with Parkinson’s disease, Fox has always prioritized his family. The family faced a difficult time in 2022 with the passing of Fox’s mother, Phyllis Fox.
Beyond being a remarkable actor, Michael J. Fox is a loving and dedicated father. He has raised over $2 billion for Parkinson’s disease research, demonstrating his commitment not only to his family but also to the broader community. His love and devotion to his family are truly inspiring.
