What would you do if you hit the jackpot? Most of us dream of lavish purchases like a new car or a house with our lottery winnings.
Yet, there’s a Massachusetts man named Paul Riley, who adores animals and won a whopping $4 million from a scratch-off ticket, who immediately decided to use his winnings to help animals in need.
Paul Riley, from Peabody, Massachusetts, purchased a scratch-off ticket for the Massachusetts State Lottery called “100X Cash” from a local store. He scratched it off and was astonished to find out he had won the $4 million jackpot in the game.
Paul, known for his love of animals, went to claim his prize with his pet puppy, Raven.
When asked about his plans for the future, he openly said he would donate a part of his earnings to the Animal Rescue League.
The act of people giving away their wealth for the benefit of animals is truly inspiring, especially when it’s for a good cause. Paul plans to enjoy his newfound wealth and provide for his family as well. He mentioned his desire to buy his wife a new car.
Paul was awarded $2,600,000 in a one-time payment before taxes, as reported by the news. The store where he bought the lucky ticket, Summit Variety, will also receive a bonus of $40,000.
We extend our congratulations to Paul for his amazing lottery win and for choosing to support animal shelters with your winnings!
