When Scott and Jackie Nelson first saw Coconut, they couldn’t believe she was a native of Melbourne, Florida.
Over three million people have marveled at her unique beauty, captured when she was just two days old. At two years old, the couple, who run Down Under Colour ranch and breed horses, recorded her first outdoor adventure on camera.
According to a YouTube description, Coconut is also referred to as a War Horse due to her incredibly uncommon markings. In Native American culture, such horses were ridden by chiefs or medicine men, who were traditional and spiritual leaders.
To be considered a War Horse, a horse must have one blue eye with a liner surrounding it and a shield on its chest. In Native American mythology, this blue eye is called a Sky Eye. It is believed that this eye will convey the spirits of the Chief and Medicine Man to their gods if they perish in combat. This unique trait is what makes Coconut so special.
