The 35-year-old singer Rihanna’s fans are elated as they finally discover the name of her son, one year after his birth.
The revelation of the child’s name, however, did not come directly from Rihanna herself. Instead, it was unveiled when the Daily Mail obtained a copy of the baby’s birth certificate.
Fans who had eagerly wondered about the name chosen by Rihanna were thrilled to finally have the answer to this mystery.
Nevertheless, when the birth certificate was made public, it left fans puzzled. According to the document, Rihanna’s son is named RZA Athelston.
The second name is easily explained as it honors the baby’s father, Rihanna’s boyfriend, ASAP Rocky, also known as Rakim Athelaston Mayers.
Regarding the first name, it appears to be a reference to rapper Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, who is known by the pseudonym RZA and is the leader of the Wu-Tang Clan group.
The reason behind Rihanna’s decision to name her son in this way remains unclear. The singer had no known connection or fandom towards Diggs in the past. However, she has been spotted wearing clothes featuring Wu-Tang Clan symbols recently. Rihanna has yet to provide an explanation on the correct pronunciation of her son’s name.
As for her second child, which she is currently expecting, Rihanna is likely to maintain a level of secrecy. She has not disclosed the due date or the gender of the upcoming baby.
