Elijah Wood recently left his fans astonished with an unexpected revelation. In an interview with WSJ.The actor disclosed that he already has two children awaiting him at home: a 3-year-old son named Evan and a 14-month-old daughter, whose name he chose not to disclose.
This news came as a surprise since Wood had not previously announced the arrival of his second child, nor did he mention that his partner, 42-year-old Mette-Marie Kongsved, was expecting again.
After over a year after the birth of his daughter, Wood decided to share this significant milestone with the world. He expressed his complete joy and satisfaction in embracing his role as a father, relishing in the fulfillment it brings.
Wood mentioned that tending to his daughter during the late nights when she was a newborn was not at all burdensome for him. Even now, he wakes up early to prepare breakfast for his children, a task he genuinely enjoys.
When questioned about his decision to keep the birth of his daughter and the absence of photos of his children private, Wood explained that he does not consider himself a public figure. He prefers to keep the intricacies of his personal life separate from the public eye.
Interestingly, news of Wood becoming a father for the first time with the birth of his son Evan also surfaced after the fact, only becoming public knowledge when Mette-Marie was spotted without a prominent baby bump.
Furthermore, the actor’s relationship with Kongsved remained under wraps for quite some time, with their romance being discovered two years after it began. They initially met and fell in love on the set of the film “I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore” in 2016, where Wood played a leading role and Kongsved served as a producer. However, their status as a couple was only revealed in 2018 when they were seen together in Pasadena, holding hands.
During that time, rumors circulated that Wood and Kongsved were engaged, as she was spotted wearing a ring resembling an engagement ring. However, Wood has not confirmed the engagement speculation thus far.
