A Utah resident shared on social media that her son’s birthday party had no attendees because it coincided with New Year’s Eve. This led to an outpouring of gifts and well-wishes from kind-hearted strangers.
Rosario Lopez, the mother of nine-year-old Jayden, had planned the party in advance and sent out invitations but unfortunately, no friends or relatives showed up, leaving mother and son alone on that day.
In a post on a local group, Rosario expressed her apologies and requested kind words and congratulations for her son in the comments. To her surprise, her request garnered hundreds of likes, with people asking for their home addresses to send gifts, and toys, and even personally visit to celebrate the birthday.
In the comments section, individuals who also had birthdays on significant holidays shared their own experiences to uplift Jayden, reassuring him that he was not alone. Another mother extended an invitation for Jayden and Rosario to celebrate together as her own children also had upcoming birthdays.
