A fantastic idea once hit May Etchenson of County Antrim in lovely Northern Ireland: she should knit a replica of her home.
Why not?
She began this intriguing undertaking because she enjoys knitting. But that was just the start. May showed the finished house to her knitting friends because she belongs to a knitting group.
The women then made the decision to continue and work together to knit their entire village, Clochmills, where they reside.
They eventually came to realize their unusual concept by meeting every Wednesday.
The result was a full layout of the city that featured all of the key features, such as the post office, bars, and shops. As well as the former shirt factory and flax mill that served as the village’s foundation.
A playground and garden plots with cauliflower plants are also included.
Edgar, the husband of Mrs. Etchenson, assisted the enthusiasts in raising money to buy materials and equipment. The village model is constructed from knitted fabric.
The delighted authors of this masterpiece hope to raise $3,000 and donate the money to a charitable organization. We wish these wonderful women continued success in their admirable work!
