The Girl’s Legs Were Replaced by the Basketball, and Her Tenacity and Willpower Helped Her Succeed

Qian was in a car accident when she was 4 years old. The girl had no legs when she awoke.
Due to their poor income, Qian’s parents were unable to pay for the child’s expensive therapy as well as artificial limbs.
Not knowing what else to do, Qian’s grandfather cut the basketball so that the girl could fit her lower body inside the ball. Qian was able to move about the floor by using regular old door handles.

The girl’s name was used to make donations. And Qian had the opportunity to travel to Beijing to try on her first prosthetics.
Qian was also able to complete her primary school because of donations.
New funding was required in order to pursue further studies. And the Qian family didn’t have any of them; her parents were just farmers who led very simple lives.

Qian left and went back home, but instead of giving up, she made the decision to take any chance that came her way. The young woman discovered a newly formed club teaching swimming to individuals with impairments in her province.

The girl has no desire to burden her parents or whine about bad luck. After all, life itself is a lot, regardless of how much misery fate gave her.

Qian won the 100-meter swim in the 2014 regional Yunnan Paralympics.
