Gordon Ramsay shares update on fatherhood – addition to family comes seven years after couple lost baby

Gordon Ramsay is widely known for his fiery personality and exceptional culinary skills, which have earned him decades of fame. However, recently, the celebrated chef shared a different side of his life—his experience as a father for the sixth time. Read on to find out how Ramsay is adjusting to this new chapter.

Over the past weekend, Ramsay, 57, attended the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Las Vegas, where he eagerly talked about the latest addition to his family—a baby boy named Jesse James. Reflecting on becoming a father again at his age, Ramsay humorously described the experience as “extraordinary” and “just blessed.” He joked, “I’m sure I’ll be the oldest dad at school drop-off, so I’ll be wearing my spectacles and a cap.”

Earlier this month, Ramsay and his wife Tana welcomed their newest child, Jesse James Ramsay, who weighed in at seven pounds and ten ounces. Proudly sharing the news, Ramsay posted photos of Jesse on social media with the caption, “3 boys, 3 girls…done.”

Tana also took to social media to announce the birth, writing, “It’s been a nerve-wracking nine months, but we’ve made it, and we have been blessed with this little bundle. We adore you so much, Jesse James Ramsay.”

The couple’s journey to parenthood has not been without heartache. In 2016, they tragically lost their sixth child to a miscarriage. At the time, Ramsay expressed his gratitude for the public’s support and shared the heartbreaking news that Tana had miscarried their son at five months.

Four years later, Tana opened up about her experience in an interview, particularly after Chrissy Teigen publicly shared her own miscarriage in 2020. Tana praised Teigen’s bravery and honesty, noting how much of Teigen’s experience resonated with her own.

Reflecting on her miscarriage, Tana recalled how difficult it was when people avoided talking about it, as if it had never happened. “It was really difficult, so all I wanted to do was talk about it with friends, family, and anyone else who asked,” she shared. “It was a really hard experience—you go from having a baby kicking inside of you to suddenly it’s not there.”

Tana also spoke about how supportive Gordon had been throughout the ordeal. “Gordon was amazing. He’s always talked about everything. He was very good at talking it out of me and never made me feel like we shouldn’t discuss it,” she said.

In September 2023, Ramsay revisited the loss of their son, whom they had named Rocky. The famous chef admitted, “It was very difficult to lose Rocky. There’s no book or movie that prepares you for that kind of loss.”

Ramsay described the experience as “life-changing,” recounting how they went from celebrating the baby’s health one day to the devastating news of the miscarriage the next. The tragedy, however, brought their family closer together.

Despite the heartbreak, the couple welcomed their fifth child, Oscar, in 2019, and in 2023, they completed their family with the arrival of their sixth child, Jesse James Ramsay.
