“Our relatives and friends are all aware. Just because we didn’t issue a press release doesn’t mean it’s a secret, which would be bizarre,” Musk stated regarding the arrival of his newest child.
Elon Musk has welcomed a new addition to his family. Earlier this year, the 52-year-old founder of Tesla quietly welcomed a child with Shivon Zilis, the director of special projects at Neuralink Corp.
Musk confirmed the news to Page Six. He clarified, “Regarding ‘secretly fathered,’ that’s untrue. Our family and friends are all aware.” He added, “It is not a secret just because a press release was not issued, which would be strange.”
As of now, the gender and name of Musk’s youngest child remain unknown.
Musk and his associates strive to keep their children’s lives private. Grimes, the mother of three of Musk’s children, posted a lengthy message on X (formerly Twitter) in September 2023, asking for privacy for herself and their three children. She also addressed recent media attention on her co-parenting arrangement with Musk and the revelation that they had secretly welcomed a third child, a son named Techno, shortly after Musk welcomed his children with Zilis.
“I want to de-escalate the narrative at the moment but prefer not to give more life to this press cycle,” Grimes wrote. She mentioned having a long-overdue conversation with Zilis and urged her supporters not to blame Zilis, expressing a desire to co-parent harmoniously and become friends.
In 2002, Musk and his first wife, Justine Wilson, welcomed their first child, a son named Nevada Alexander, who tragically passed away at ten weeks old from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). They later had twins, Vivian Jenna and Griffin, in 2004, and triplets, Kai, Saxon, and Damian, in 2006, through IVF.
In May 2020, Musk and Grimes welcomed their first child together, X Æ A-Xii. Then, in November 2021, Musk and Zilis quietly welcomed twins, Azure and Strider. A year later, Grimes revealed to Vanity Fair that she and Musk had a daughter, Exa Dark Siderael, via surrogate in December 2021.
Journalist Walter Isaacson’s 2023 biography of Musk disclosed the birth of Musk’s third child with Grimes, a son named Techno Mechanicus, also known as “Tau,” marking the first announcement of Musk’s youngest child.
