Everyone was wondering what happened to Carrie Underwood’s husband

Carrie Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, are a regular pair on the red carpet, gracing prestigious award shows such as the Grammys, CMA Awards, and American Music Awards together. Their adorable dynamic often leaves fans in awe.

One event where Fisher consistently supports his wife is the CMT Music Awards. The former Nashville Predators star accompanied Underwood to the CMTs in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019.

However, following the pandemic, award shows underwent some changes, and while Fisher reunited with Underwood in 2022, he was absent from the 2023 CMT Awards held on April 2 in Austin, Texas.

Despite his absence, there’s no trouble in paradise for the couple. Underwood, who was nominated for Female Video of the Year and Video of the Year, explained on the red carpet that Fisher was on dad duty. “My husband is in charge of the kids,” she shared, highlighting his role in managing their household while she attends such events. She even gave a shoutout to her children from the red carpet.

Notably, the move of the CMTs from Nashville to Texas might have influenced Fisher’s absence. Nashville, their home base, made previous award show appearances more convenient. Nevertheless, Underwood made a stunning appearance in Texas, dazzling in a rhinestone two-piece ensemble.

Despite their fame, Underwood and Fisher strive to keep their sons, Isaiah and Jacob, out of the spotlight. Last year, they decided not to bring their children on tour to maintain their routine. Underwood told ET Canada, “We prioritize my oldest’s education, and she is enrolled in school. We want their lives to be as normal as possible.”

Underwood also praised Fisher for being a hands-on father, allowing her to focus on her career. “I’m fortunate. I must boast a little about my husband. He’s got it. He has it under lock and key while I’m not here,” she said, emphasizing her confidence in his parenting skills.

Fisher’s enthusiasm for fatherhood was evident even before Isaiah’s birth in 2015. He expressed his eagerness to The Tennessean, saying, “Many people say it’s impossible to explain until it happens, and then it’s the greatest thing ever. I’m simply considering how to be the greatest father I can be.”

While their relationship seems perfect now, it wasn’t always so smooth. Fisher always wanted to be a loving parent, but Underwood initially doubted her ability to be a good mother. In the “Mike and Carrie: God & Country” documentary
