Unlike many parents who ponder over what to put under the Christmas tree for their children, Drew Barrymore chooses not to give her girls gifts on the main holiday of the year. In a candid interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actress admitted, “I don’t give kids gifts at Christmas.” Instead, she takes her daughters on trips during the holiday season, creating lasting memories and cherished experiences.
“I tell them: we will remember this place, we will have photos and a lot of impressions – this is what I want to give you,” Barrymore explained. While she doesn’t give Christmas gifts, she ensures her daughters receive presents throughout the year. She firmly believes that the best gift she can offer her children is the gift of shared memories and experiences.
Barrymore clarified that she is not a strict or cold mother, as she buys her daughters different things throughout the year. Her focus is on creating meaningful memories together as a family during Christmas vacations.
Drew Barrymore and her ex-husband, art consultant Will Kopelman, welcomed their daughters into the world during their marriage. Despite their divorce in 2016, Barrymore remains committed to being an attentive and loving mother to Olive and Frankie. While she now has a new romance, the actress prefers to keep her partner’s identity private for the time being.
